The Challenge

The National Center of Continuing Education (NCCE) is a governmental public institution that functions as a technical agency of the Albanian Ministry of Health. Its mission is to promote continuing professional development for all healthcare professionals, to enrich their knowledge and develop their competencies in support of improving the quality of healthcare services. In this framework, the Ministry of Health, by means of NCCE urged to develop an information system that would automate, facilitate and improve the process of Accreditation and Recertification (ARS) of health professionals.

This project required for continuous tracking of healthcare professionals educational activity. It required permanent notifying of such activities. The rescuing of existing data and their adaption to the new digitized system was a necessity.

The Solution

Konsort developed a web based application using a robust cloud computing platform (Caspio). This cloud platform, specialized in government services, supported the system without needing extra hardware infrastructure except for internet and computers for end users. Implemented is a web based architecture which allows easy access of the system and also local extraction for further analysis.

Data rescuing, adaption and automating was addressed successfully by using data-migrating tools, structuring and storing data in a centralized database (SQL Server). The system provided on time collaboration, using highly secure interactive web applications. It is available 24/7 and provides to all Health professionals the possibility to view and check their credits online through internet. It supports the access of more than 10 thousand users on daily basis.  Our robust methodology ensured successful, on time delivery and guaranteed the knowledge transfer to the client’s IT Team for sustainability and maintenance.

 The Result

Through the system “SARA” that Konsort developed and implemented, the health professionals today are guaranteed recognition of their extra educational work toward new medical approaches. On the other hand NCCE is guaranteed full monitoring of this process.

The implementation of this system ensures the efficient management, monitoring and controlling of the Accreditation and Recertification of all Health professionals of the republic of Albania by NCCE.  Today, the Ministry of Health possesses a transparent, automated system that has strongly improved the service of one of its important agencies.
